supreme suicide
(a Shakespearean sonnet)

SUPREME COURT SUICIDE is strange to watch.
Most suicides are private, after all . . .
who wants their's public? What if one should botch
the job -- unleash a press corps free-for-all.

To see our highest court kneel with a sword
aimed at its solar plexus . . . That's plain odd.
And why? To fight democracy? 'Good Lord!'
The law has many uses, but, 'Good God' . . .

. . . to say The Constitution won't allow
that votes be counted? Clearly, that's insane.
  (Or 'strict constructivism?' Holy cow!)
BUT put away that sword. . . and get a cane:

THE COURT SHOULD SPANK ITSELF for law's abuse,
and tighten all their screws that have come loose.
